These are some of the COB Utilities that are available on the World Wide Web for the great game CREATUREs© by Cyberlife and Mindscape.

FIRST BEFORE YOUR PROCEED. These are some CREATUREs © COB crash tips as suggested by Stefan Kuske

Before installing any new COB you must really read the README, TXT, or DOC file within the ZIP file !!!
There could be some errors or crashes by injecting COBs. They mostly depend on:
a.) the limitation of the number of installed COBs,
b.) on missing Sprite or Sound files or
c.) on the wrong CREATURES version.

If you get error messages like this:

Creatures encountered an exception during execution of a macro script,
most probably not due to a syntax error.
Offending portion of the macro: {what ever the causing script involved is}
Cross your fingers and continue for now....

than you can try the following tips:
1. Please check if you have put all Sprite files (.spr) coming with (most) of all COBs into the CREATURES\SPRITES directory.
Check if there are any new Sound files (.wav) in the ZIP file and put them into the CREATURES\SOUNDS directory.

If that does not bring any changes, than try that:

2. Please restore your original world.sfc file by using the Emergency Kit. BUT: don't forget to export all norns first. Otherwise they're lost!!! Restart CREATURES and try to inject the crash - causing COB again. It should work now.
If you're using CREATURES v1.0 or v1.0.1 please update to v1.0.2 found on this page.

Most of these COBs have been tested quite intensively by creatures users all over. Possible crashs or bugs do depend on the number of already installed COBs or on the using of CREATURES v1.0 or v1.0.1!

CREATUREs © Editor 32bit Creatures Editor 32bit program was inspired by a set of programs by a range of people. namely LummoxJr, Alex Laemmle and Sandra Linkletter.
Having played creatures for a while, Daniel decided to start a subscription to the creatures newsgroup and it was here that he learned of the creatures resources out here on the web. Daniel soon downloaded BORG and COE and COBCOM and NORNPOSE from LummoxJR and Alex's sites. Having got really annoyed with the shareware messages from COE (and having no money to spare) and not particularly enjoying COBCOB's white window, Daniel decided that he would write his own COB editor. Daniel quickly did this and soon had a working equivalent to COBCOM. Unfortunately he had no provision for SPR's and so he created a set of routines to load and save them. This kind of progressed with suggestions from the newsgroup and, here it is now, totally FREE and without cost or charge. There is no catch, no cripple function, the package is entirely WYSIWYG and as such, is not yet miraculousley fab. Daniel is quite proud of the system and would very much like any feedback you would care to send me. .

CREATUREs © Object Installer Here's the easiest way to install and uninstall Creatures COBs. No copying of files from folder x to folder y. That's a thing of the past with COI: Just click on the COB you want to install and start the installation. That's it. COI is shareware. The COB uninstaller function is disabled in the unregistered version. For all COB developers is a special COI file compiler available to compile .coi files for your selfmade COBs to make sure, that they could be installed or uninstalled with COI.
